About Us
There has been a much-loved florist on The Rise for over 30 years. Some of our customers have been coming through the door since they were children, and now pop in with their grandchildren to look at the flowers and see what’s new in the shop. We re-opened The Flower Box in April 2017, and have been welcomed with open arms by the lovely local community. We are thrilled to be a new chapter in the history of The Rise, and it has been wonderful getting to know our regular customers and the flowers they like. We create beautiful flowers for any occasion, to any budget. Do feel free to drop in to talk to us about your event, place an order, pick up a plant or a unique gift – everyone is welcome, including your four-legged friends (treats offered if allowed!)
PAULA LUMSDEN
They say “good things come in small packages” … and this is certainly true of Paula, our little creative powerhouse. First working as a florist when she was just 15, Paula has gone on to forge a career in flowers, training and working with top florists throughout Dublin, as well as in New York and Sydney. Bespoke work is her forte and she has created custom pieces for high profile clients including Prada, MCD, Enya and Bono. A gifted wedding florist, Paula has been a finalist in the Best Bridal Florist category on weddingsonline.ie.

My goal is always to create something very special that matches the uniqueness of each occasion – I never just to want to meet that person’s expectations, but supersede them…”

Christine Maxwell
Christine is our expert plantswoman. She studied Horticulture at the National Botanic Gardens and then worked in private gardens around Dublin, Cork and Kerry. According to one of her oldest friends, as a young child Christine declared that she was going to open a flower shop when she grew up … so The Flower Box was obviously her destiny! “To me it’s the best of both worlds – I can still enjoy my love of plants with our outdoor section and yet stay dry and clean in a wonderful environment of beautiful flowers and foliage.”
